Love the design, not just the fact that it’s pink, but the lettering is great and the simplicity works really well I think. No wonder you’re pleased with it! I will look out for it on the bookshelves!

Love the cover, the colours and the title all great. Will get my mate to keep a look out for it at Heathrow. Be quicker than waiting for it to come out over here. Keep em coming….

Yes! Me Likes the look of the cover and moreso the title is mysterious and alllurring! I have just finished reading PIP and I can now say I have finally read all your books. I did it a bit back to front, read Love Rules first, then Home Truths, then Pillow Talk and loved them so much decided to go back to the very beginning and get the rest! I must say, I noticed that with each book, starting with Sally, I could sense your writing style getting better and more confident as you wrote each one, if you see what I mean! I do really like the honesty and down to earth-ness of your books and look forward to Secrets.

The cover looks absolutely brilliant - but v.sad today as my husband has gone on a business trip today and was instructed to make sure he gets a copy from the airport! But they were SOLD OUT! Must be great - looking forward to reading it SOON!

Hey Cassie
I’m thrilled that you love the cover - but horrified that there were no copies for your hubby to snap up on his business trip. Please let me know which airport - and I’ll report back to my publishers immediately….

Thanks Freya,
I now have my hands on a copy - my darling husband returned with it after all from his trip away. They were sold out at Luton but he managed to get me the ‘last copy’ on the shelf at Aberdeen.
Good news though about it being sold out.
Not has chance to start yet (he returned at 12am this morning!) - but its here just in time for my half term hols!
Looking forward to getting lost in it.
Thanks

Freya - I love and own everyone of your books - almost all in that annoying large size format that they first come out in as I can never stand to wait until they come out in ‘normal’ paperback! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one…but….can I be brutally honest? I don’t like the new cover for ‘Secrets’. It looks terribly frothy and lightweight, and I know that’s exactly not what the words inside will be. I can’t help but think that if I didn’t know just how great your books were, I’d be overlooking this one if I saw it on the shelf and dismissing it. Yes, I’m guilty of judging a book by its cover!
Nonetheless, I can’t wait to read it…!

Hi JKM,
I’m really interested in your response. Covers are SO subjective (I know…I worked as a picture researcher doing other people’s book covers when I was an unpublished writer!) I’m so sorry that, as a dedicated reader, the new design doesn’t tickle your fancy. Fascinating that you feel it looks frothy and lightweight - we went for strong colour and simple silhouette and straight typography to try and avoid that (I’ve seen a few covers of ‘the competition’ - many appear to adhere to larky illustrations on creamy backgrounds with squiggly writing). See what you think when it’s in your hands. And yes, I assure you that the interior of the book is 475 pages of quality fiction - humane, sexy, a little dark, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant…) Thanks for your considered posting - it’s always so interesting and flattering that my readers should feel strongly. Much much better than a ’so-so’ response!
Keep in touch! FN

Hi Freya,
Am currently reading ‘Love Rules’ after a pause in reading your books. I love how realistic your characters are and how I can imagine them being part of my own circle of friends. The greatest pleasure for me is catching up with characters from previous books like Sally and Richard. I think it gives a sense of completeness and, why wouldn’t they know Alice and Thea? It reminds me of the inter-connected nature of university friends and the individuals themselves.
Thank you for such fun, but touching novels. Picking up ‘Love Rules’ has been like chatting to an old friend while sitting in my favourite chair with tea and cake.
Just sent instructions to the fiance to grab ‘Secrets’ while passing through Heathrow this afternoon….I really like the cover - the silhouette is in keeping with the idea of being close to discovering a secret. Very intriguing!
Best wishes,
Tiff

Hi

I havn’t been so engrossed in my books since before my exams started, but now they’re finished I grasp any opportunity to read them. The book comes with me wherever I go, happily sitting in my handbag waiting for me to turn to the folded page and carry on in my adventure of a fairytale life.
At the moment I’m reading secrets- I love it! I love how you keep some things quiet until nearer the end of the story; it lends excitement and mystery to it! You also seem to have everything in the right place. I was thinking, ‘why hasn’t Tess had a ‘nosy’ around Joe’s bedroom yet?’ And sure enough, the next paragraph involved Tess snuggling into his pillow!
The book I read before this one was Pillow Talk, which my boyfriend bought me as a little gift. He knew how much i loved the book because I kept talking about it and telling him all about the history of Tanzanite. So he came back from his tesco shop with another book written by you. I was over the moon and started reading straight away. (Much to his regret of buying it as I disappeared again for another hour or so!)
Thankyou for providing me (and I’m sure many, many others alike) with stories that I can relate to, characters whom i feel I know personally and places which I can vividly picture in my mind!
Sorry about the essay I’ve written! Keep up the good work

Camilla! Good luck with your exam results. I thought for a moment that when you said your boyf went to Tesco after you’d read Pillow Talk…you were going to say he brought you back Tanzanite. I mean, I know they sell most things…but!
