I’m a couple of days away from completing my 16th novel – working title “Unfinished Business” – and I’m looking forward to you meeting new characters. But my goodness it’s been a tough and arduous process excavating this story from the depths of my creativity! If writing Little Wing was like freewheeling down a lovely long rolling hill, then writing this new novel has been an uphill climb in the wrong gear… Sometimes it just happens that way – and yet, when I read back what I’ve written I’m really pleased with it! I’ll be telling you more about the characters, the settings and the story in due course – suffice it to say it’s been an emotional trip down memory lane for me, remembering the amazing time I had living in Manchester in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

After doing a gorgeous event at Aye Write – the literature festival in Glasgow – I went back up to my beloved Harris. It was amazing to be back there now Little Wing is published – I could truly ‘sense’ Nell, Dougie and especially Flora – as if I was following in their footsteps and they were just ahead, just out of sight…

I have a limited number of Little Wing first editions for sale in my bookshop which I’d be delighted to sign personally for you – so snap ’em up before they go! For now – feast your eyes on some of my recent Harris highlights.
